Quilled Wreath -Tutorial
Tutorial
1 Take a piece of stiff paper, I used an empty paper carton, cut a 3" circle and made a smaller one inside it. A compass helps a lot in this procedure.
2 Now that we have a wreath frame , time to paint it green using acrylic colors.
3 Make six flowers of your choice , I used blue and white ,make marquis teardrops and glue into flowers.
4 Make leaves with marquis shapes , I have used a lighter shade of green around the leaves as they were looking dull.
5 Make tight yellow coils for flower centres and glue them.
Try out different arrangements on the wreath frame and glue on the flowers first. The leaves can be added as required.
Enjoy!

Quilled Flower

Quilling is fast becoming a rage everywhere and on my last trip to Delhi I managed to find quilling material at Staples quite easily!
This gift box has been decorated with a simple 3 layered quilled flower and a few leaves. The motif flower comes in handy to add a little glamour to a gift and can be reused.
There are 3 layers of 5 petals each , large, medium and small, that makes a total of 15 teardrop petals. I have glued a pearl to the centre of the flower to make it look festive.
Three marquis quilled shapes are used as leaves.I have tried to make a Zennia flower which has mutiple layer of petals.

Quilled Flowers

My box of quilled stuff yielded these flowers made some time back. The purple colored strips came along with the multicolored pack of strips and were looking for some TLC !!
The centres are fringed and the deep purple flowers petals are bunny ears, actually I wanted to make a bunch of Cosmos :(
The stems are made with wire wrapped with green tape which I use for my clay flowers , my craft table is overflowing with multipurpose treasures!

Quilled Flower Basket

Quilling has been a wonderful experience for me and I was amazed by the flexibility of the strips of paper ! Surprisingly the end result is quite sturdy . This basket is the result of all the different types of flowers I had made during the last one month after I starting quilling.
The basket is made of C scrolls 3 " long , the flowers are made of looping, marquis, grape-fruit techniques . Actually I had made a boxful of different flowers which I wanted to put together in a pleasing manner and the basket was a nice container !
