Bookmarks -Punch Art

Bookmarks are a great gift item much appreciated by most people. I have slowly built up a nice collection of craft books which I refer to quite often and need bookmarks all the time. These bookmarks have been decorated with white punched flowers, leaves and a bit of ribbon, since white color stood out nicely on mauve card stock I decided not to use any embellishments.
Feeling adventurous I punched out some flowers and leaves from the mauve card stock and here are the lacy bookmarks! There is a lot one can do with paper punches!

Bookmark

This bookmark goes for , Challenge -I its about making a bookmark using tight coils .
I have used ten tight coils and a loose scroll for making it. A thin green ribbon makes it handy to locate and pull out.The quilling is glued to a 6"x 1 1/2" piece of handmade paper.
Many times people ask if quilled bookmarks are practical as the quilling may get crushed between the pages of books. Bur fear not , quilling is pretty sturdy and if the design is set on the upper part of the bookmark it weathers well !
Nowadays I love handmade paper for making craft as its thick and is actually not paper at all but re-cycled rags pressed to form a sheet. Its eco-friendly and comes in a variety of textures and colors. No cutting down of trees !
